Ragamuffins – New and Improved (Sneak Peak)

Attention: As I am no longer posting to this blog, please be sure to check out my new website!

The Ragamuffin Dolls are making another comeback! After illustrating them in a new style, I’ve decided to make all new dolls!

Here’s just a sneak peak for what I’ve sketched so far, but there is plenty to come (including some new characters)!

I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve last updated my blog, but I have been insanely busy working at Stratford and I can’t believe how tired I am every night when I get home (definitely too tired to even turn my computer on). Though, now that I’ve bought myself a Wacom Tablet last week, I’m hoping to start working on some more personal projects, as well as a few freelance jobs! I’ve got about three freelance jobs going on right now: one I’ve just submitted a mock-up and awaiting approval for, another is still in the sketching stage (pictured above), and the third I’m waiting to hear on exactly what she needs me to do.

Last night I decided to break in the new Wacom by working on some sketches for new Ragamuffin illustrations (pictured below – yes, I’m aware Scout is missing a foot):

A Day Late and a Dollar Short

… Happy Halloween (kinda)!

As usual, I found myself to be quite lazy last night after work, so I did not get around to posting my Ragamuffins illustration.

So here it is! Obviously, Scout is a zombie and Scarlet is Ursula from The Little Mermaid. Cal’s costume is my favorite, though I might take some extra time to work on it a little more- push it to its full potential, ya know? If you couldn’t tell, Cal is Pantone color 319C. Her dress is inspired by this Barbie doll. Not only did my inner child rejoice at such a beautiful doll, but the design nerd in me was excited as well, and I knew right away that I wanted one of the girls to wear something similar.

Ragamuffins 2.0: Full Illustration

If you couldn’t tell, I’m having a lot of fun drawing the dolls in this style. I have even more sketches of the girls that I can’t wait to complete in Illustrator!

Ragamuffin Headshots

I’ve really been enjoying drawing the Ragamuffins in a new style. I spent most of last night experimenting with different angles.

The Ragamuffins return, this time better than ever.

Thanks to the help of my friend John Mooney and the younger sister of another friend, I was able to capture the Ragamuffin Dolls in action!
